Getting back into work

Exploring your options:  Our work coaches are qualified and experienced in supporting people into work, education or training and Zink itself holds The Matrix Standard, the government standard for employability services. Your Zink work coach will help you decide what sort of job you want then meet with you regularly to plan how to get it. If you’re not ready for work straightaway, there might be things you can do now to prepare you for when you are. This could include volunteering, training, education or other activities. If you need work experience to help you get a job, we can offer that in our café, foodbank, office or other part of Zink.

If you’re looking at setting up a business or going self-employed, we can help too!

Job applications

A great job application is hugely important:  We can help you to get that right too!
We will coach you on how to answer the questions that the employer is really asking on the application form, we will teach you how to use a job description and person specification properly ensuring that all of your transferable skills, knowledge and experience are included and the information the employer wants to see is easy to find. Currently you will need to be on one of our programs to access this service but watch this space for updates on new availability.

Work experience

Developing your skills at Zink:  We’ll tailor your volunteering at Zink to give you experiences related to your future job goal. Just tell us what you want to do and we’ll do what we can to accommodate your wishes. We’re also happy to offer work experience to schools and colleges. Coming in 2023: In partnership with ‘Buxton Twinning Association’ we aim to offer work experience opportunities overseas in Bad Nauheim, Germany!

CV writing

We can help you write a CV you’re proud of:  Create, update or tailor your CV at one of our workshops. Learn how to write a profile, deal with gaps in employment and lay out your CV to attract attention. We can teach you how to upload your CV as an attachment online to employers and job sites.

Interview prep
